New clone from type specimens collected in Sulawesi, forming rather large flatten rhizomes. The rhizomes have more percentages of lighter (silver background color) that makes them look brighter than the Philippines form. fronds also wider and can stretch up to 3 ft. long!
It requires very good drainage or mounted on tree fern plaques with good-quality sphagnum. Care should be exercised not over water. It also usually produces several fronds that need to trim out some, allowing rhizomes access enough light for good shape.
Offered are starter, established in 4" pot
New Plant Offers!
Compact growing species, with velvety hastate fronds in pale green and contrast with deep green veins. It spreads by stunning white furry rhizomes.
Need time to settle but fairly easy once established. Does best in very coarse, porous epphyt mix topped with high quality sphagnum, or mounted on wooden totem, tree-fern plaque, or wet vine branch.
Offers are divisions, established in 4” pot
The exclusive collection of extremely rare and very unusual maidenhair fern. Adiantum thongthamii endemic only to Thailand and known only small population in a single location. Its morphology looks far different from most maidenhair ferns by having hairy pinnaes in gluca blue color! The pairs of pinnaes arranged on sturdy fronds rise around very short upright rhizomes, creating a puffy blue monster when well care!
Unlike most maidenhair ferns that need alkaline media, this specie performs well in rather neutral media under high light level. We would say it likes the conditions that most xeric ferns thrive. For us, it shown to the best advantage when "grown under cover" in containers to themselves. For these, berry bowls, terrariums of all sizes, or any decorative glass containers are recommended.
Offered are starter plants, established in 3" pot
